Hi, I'm Jennifer.  Most days you can find me introverting hard with a good book, interesting podcast, a silly tv show, or an old record.  I've been told that I'm boldness in a quiet package.  I started out pursuing accounting but stumbled into inner-city ministry 20 years ago.  God called my family to love children and families in the downtown areas of Amarillo in 1996, and that call has changed everything I though my life might be.  I'm passionate about the Great Commission, loving my husband, and loving my 3 pretty great kids.  My husband James and I are currently the the waiting stages of adopting from Ethiopia.  We hope to add another son to our already family of 5.  I'd love it if you would join me on social media with #servetogrow with your discipleship ideas.

Here's the more official, more pretentious, less fun bio:

Jennifer Lane and her husband James Lane have ministered at Citychurch in downtown Amarillo, Texas for 20 years.  The Lanes and extended family founded Citychurch and the 501(c)3 organization Citychurch Outreach Ministry in 1996.

James and Jennifer have been married for seventeen years and are the parents of three children: Lucy (age 17), Andrew (age 13), and Gabriel (age 6).  They are also in the waiting stage of the adopting process to adopt a son from Ethiopia. The Lanes reside in Amarillo, Texas, where James serves as minister of media at Citychurch.  Jennifer has home educated her children for 14 years, and served at Citychurch in many different capacities.

Jennifer graduated from West Texas A&M University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Business Science with a major in accounting.  Since graduating, Jennifer has used her accounting abilities to help Citychurch with bookkeeping and filing 990s with the IRS.  Over the years, Jennifer’s focus was less on the numbers and more on the ministry to her own children and the children of Citychurch.

Jennifer has taught Sunday school for pre-school and high school aged girls, taught after-school Bible clubs for elementary age children, led a bicycle route to deliver free lunches to a neighborhood of children for 4 summers, ministered to women through Bible study and practical classes, served on leadership for IF:Amarillo that organized a city-wide women’s event, served as treasurer for the local home school association PCHEA for five years, and been a part of countless children’s and youth camps and discipleship weekends.

Over the past few years, Jennifer has been blogging about their adoption journey.  This year Jennifer began blogging about her personal struggles and joys in her Christian life and life in the ministry.

Jennifer began podcasting with her friend Kaylie Hodges in April 2015 on The Re: Podcast.  The Re: Podcast references current events with reverence to God and gives response to the topic.  More recently, Jennifer and Kaylie podcasted on a conversational, fun, weekly podcast called the What Are You Doing Podcast.

Jennifer released her first book, an eBook called Faith Adventures:  Stories of Learning with an Unseen God on Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing.
